The Origin of Kläre
Kläre means “crystal clear”
in German
“Schwarzwald” (literally “black forest” in German) is a forested
mountain range rich in nature located in southwest Germany, the
birthplace of Grimm’s fairy tales. In the 1970s, about 50% of the trees
died out due to acid rain. The precise nature was then restored after
a string of environmentally conscientious measures.
The forest is mainly covered with Norway spruce trees. The name
“Black Forest” stemmed from the dark appearance of the densely
